Spring is coming, and it's time to meet on the battlefield again! We will be starting the new Belegarth sword-fighting season this Sunday (21/4), and all are welcome, seasoned veterans as well as rank beginners. We will meet in Englischer Garten near http://goo.gl/maps/1efu1 at 11:00 (but you can drop in anytime) and fight until roughly 14:00, then those who wish go off to have a well-deserved lunch.

What is Belegarth, you may ask? It's full-speed, full-contact, free-form medieval combat using heavily padded swords, shields, flails, etc. The rules are simple, the weapons are safe, and the experience is the closest you'll get to being on in an actual battlefield of the Dark Ages. Anyone can join, no experience nor armor needed. We have about 20 swords, 2 shields, a flail, and bow and arrow available, but any number of people can join, the more the merrier.
Bring water and loose-fitting clothes that can stand getting sweaty and dirty. Boots with ankle support or leather gloves are good ideas. We will postpone in case of heavy rain or very slippery ground.

Have fun you guys! I will unfortunately being in Nürnburg, while Carl-Eric Menzel subjects me to football. :P
ReplyDeleteLars Clausen I take it you do not require transportation, if Christian is coming?
ReplyDeleteUlf Adams Indeed, but thanks for thinking of it. It's good to have backups.
