I heard about this revision of the Danish equivalent of the FOIA earlier: They are closing off access to the workings of the ministries "so that the officials can work without their ideas being subject to public opinion". In other words: They want to be able to make shady back-room deals without the pesky public interfering. The public that at several referendums have disagreed thoroughly with the politicians.
