Mickey Blake and I fiddled with word triangles (and how to generate them automatically) them. We tried getting one with both velociraptor and replicator, but it doesn't appear to be possible to make one with velociraptor (at least not with single words). For replicator, we got:

    Earlier this year I played with word shapes (code at http://ekot.dk/programmer/Ordkvadrat/ - the page is in Danish), but I did not get around to adding fixed word support.

    Which word list do you use? The one from National Puzzlers League yielded 0 results for the combination of velociraptor and replicator so no help there. Maybe 'laverators' or 'lovemonger' are valid substitutions for 'replicators'?

    Ohh... Silly me. Your word triangles are not my triangles. You remove one letter at a time and do not care about vertical words. That is quite a different and equally interesting problem.
