Originally shared by Tazein Mirza Saad I am hurting, crying because some people have shattered my heart- All I want is your happiness, I don't want success, money, fame. I am just 1 user on this site-I am too kind, but that's me- I cannot change my nature! If I inspire some of you, then I will never die- I would live on in your hearts forever! #lifetalks

For all the sewing I've done, I've never really understood this. Now it makes sense.

We will fight Sunday 28/7 in Englischer Garten on the lawn a bit south-west of the lake (see http://goo.gl/maps/5ael9). All are welcome, beginners and on-lookers too.

We will fight Sunday 28/7 in Englischer Garten on the lawn a bit south-west of the lake (see http://goo.gl/maps/5ael9 ). All are welcome, beginners and on-lookers too. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and loose-fitting clothes that can stand getting sweaty and dirty. Boots with ankle support, knee protection or leather gloves are also good. We will postpone in case of heavy rain or very slippery ground. Belegarth is full-speed, full-contact, free-form medieval combat using heavily padded swords, shields, flails, etc. The rules are simple, the weapons are safe, and the experience is the closest you'll get to being on in an actual battlefield of the Dark Ages. Anyone can join, no experience nor armor needed. We have a lot of swords, several shields, and other assorted weaponry available, but any number of people can join, the more the merrier. events/cu3mr6015knv9aalfi4p2ljjtb8

Are 3D printers bad for your health?

Are 3D printers bad for your health? An article in Atmospheric Environment describes measurement of ultra-fine particles from desktop 3D printers, and the results are getting picked up by the IT press ( http://www.golem.de/news/studie-schaden-3d-drucker-der-gesundheit-1307-100597.html ). However: "For comparison, our estimate of the total UFP emission rate for a single PLA-based 3D printer (1.9–2.0 × 1010 # min−1) was similar to that reported during cooking with an electric frying pan (1.1–2.7 × 1010 # min−1). The same 3D printer utilizing a higher temperature ABS feedstock had an emission rate estimate (1.8–2.0 × 1011 # min−1) similar to that reported during grilling food on gas or electric stoves at low power (1.2–2.9 × 1011 # min−1)" http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1352231013005086
It was a good evening. I learned something.

I did not know that the Tesla S has a range of 500 km. So much for the "electric cars have limited range" trope. As for "they take forever to charge", it charges in 20 minutes for free at the Tesla stands, or in 90 seconds with battery swap at the cost of a normal tank of gas.

As for "they take forever to charge", it charges in 20 minutes for free at the Tesla stands, or in 90 seconds with battery swap at the cost of a normal tank of gas. And the best part is that all technologies involved are being heavily developed, and not just by automakers. The future is electric. Originally shared by Aygul Zagidullina Why Everybody Loves Tesla . The cover of this week's Bloomberg Businessweek. Excellent late night reading on Tesla Motors innovation and what makes them truly epic. It chronicles Tesla's struggles over the years and recent (and very well deserved) rise into stardom and success. P.S. Can't wait to see Elon Musk publish his tentative designs for the Hyperloop system by August 12. So much excited about this ambitious transport project! http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-07-18/the-tesla-electric-cars-creato...

Interesting article about fighting unconscious bias using pictures. Would be interesting to do some work with (when I have time for photography again:)

Small bit of progress tonight.

German car-makers once again show that their immediate profits are more important than the future of the human race. Shame on them.
