There's a reason Bodensee is the fruit area of Germany: They have a nice little microclimate there. The things that happen around the English Channel are curious. And - go Skagen!

  1. Just off the south coast of England, you can (just) see the Isle of Wight. Between the longer hours of sun and the sheltered terrain of parts of the island, it's possible to grow oranges there. Yay Gulf Stream.

  2. Nice little microclimate? You should visit the Bodensee in Winter, it sometimes seems the fog comes and stays for half a year. The damp cold wet weather in autumn, winter and sprint is not really nice.

Growing up next to the Bodensee (8 minutes by Bike through the woods) was of course nice though, at least in summer.
