Partnachklamm is a freaky place. It'll give you claustrophobia and vertigo at the same time. It is as if millions of tons of granite have been kneaded and cut and shaped out of order. Yet even on tiny, darkened surfaces, you will find life.

You'll also find quite the challenge for cameras. I think my 60D carried itself well, and my choice of wide-angle lens was wise indeed.

  1. Yes right. I've been there with a monopod and people have been more respectful than I had ever expected! But we'll. A monopod of course needs a bit less space.

  2. I used a monopod for a number of these, but that's not good enough for what
I would call long exposure (multiple seconds). Even getting close to 1
    second is tricky.

  3. Well yes, not in all places. It's been a while but I usually fixed the monopod at the handrail and did some multi-second exposoures (using delayed shutter). But well, you also need a nearby handrail.
