  2. Padraic McGrath​ it is perfectly fine to be not that efficient if production of those panels is cheap.

    Also we don't have a constant need for energy. As long as the extra energy from solar systems aligns well with the times of high demand e are fine.

    Plus we can use battery technology to site at least small amounts...

  3. Not only are fixed panels (probably) cheaper to produce, they also have fewer things that can fail. At this scale, anything that can possibly fail (and a few things that can't) will fail, so reducing the failure modes is important.
